Lunchtime – Site Specificity

July 2012: 3 ft x 1.5 ft x 0.5ft, Sharpie marker on copy paper, construction paper, saran wrap, tape, fishing line

Around 35 origami fish were hung by fishing wire under and around a ceiling light in a hallway of UMBC’s Fine Arts Building, some inclined upward, toward the construction paper fish food. With the light representing the opening of a fish tank, the idea behind this installation was to transform the space around it so that viewers would feel like they were watching the fish feed from below, inside the “fish tank”.
